First you extrude onl the edges to make the planes cover the body, then copy the UV1 and the Normals from the body to the planes, then make an UV2 in the planes mesh and repeat the fur alpha texture in all planes. this is the main ideia, the rest is tweaking to make it work for you, this I is somewhat complex technique I devloped myself, wasn't easy get to this result, theres many issues you may find in your way. I can't say more than this. sorry.
