Some Zevash Codex related stuff for a second! I put together a size chart using some measuring functions I had to roughly cobble together, since Sai lacks any size/proportion metersticks. Sizes are in Imperial since people (myself sadly included) in the U.S. more reliably use inches/feet when relating sizes.
Zevash Codex Notes: Most folks know this by now that both morphs of Zano are canon, the smaller is what I call the "helmet head" design, which predates my newer and more immediately recognizable version by a few years. I've always had a fondness for the design and wanted to incorporate it into Zano's backstory, but until laying out the Zevashi Roach species concept in 2017 I didn't have a good way to do so. Now, there's plenty of reason to use this design and lots of cool fun stuff to compare it to in-species. In many ways, the smaller Zano doesn't just represent his age (early 20's), but also his mentality and emotional maturity. During the events of the Zevash Codex, Zano breaks free of his cultural conditioning as a subject of The Conquest and becomes more independent in thought. Being more relied upon for military matters also changes his perspective, as his pseudo-psychic abilities (through the naturally evolved electromagnetic projection the Zevashi Roach has) become a highly valuable skill in the asymmetrical war against the Exploitation Board's corporate initiatives to dominate the Grand Basin region on Zevash.
The change in morph in part also reflects his shifting priorities and the change of status. Despite being 8ft tall, helmet head Zano is a more subservient entity in his Hive, seen as wasted potential and an anomaly brought about by his progenitor's constant mentorship (it is abnormal for a parent of a Zevashi Roach to individually raise one of their offspring). Zano was for the most part considered an outsider in his own home hive, and that hardened him against his peers. It's not surprising that his lack of acceptance in his own society made him an ideal candidate for some of the first non-hostile contact that a Zevashi Roach hive had with the alien Coalition member species (albeit, earlier mutual contact has occurred in the timeline).
Alternate Species Character Clarification: Rat, Kobold, Saurus, Synth, and other alts of Zano are obviously not canon. Most of the times, their personalities are slightly different from my current vision of Zano. It's easy to say that my "iconic" character has become his own entity in a lot of ways, no longer just a personal 'sona, but a proper character with his own wants and desires. Still, I see a lot of myself in him and will continue to use him like a 'sona.
