My roommate's cat has one braincell and no sense of object permanence, and for about two months until he finally figured out that I live in this apartment (where I had lived well before he moved in, and rarely leave) he seemed to be living under the impression that the place was simply haunted by a mysterious, spindly ghost. this is pretty much where he was spiritually whenever I came out of my room.
