It would be great if this game had deeper characters, who could actually react to you or do things on their own initiative (or what I would love: being able to influence a tribe and their leader to alter their aura a bit, so that for example the Jagni are somewhat light instead of somewhat dark). And that it had more than one ending, although they make it up to make it look like there are 2 endings... but it's the same ending.
But this is a furry RPG game, one focused on that, and one of the best I know that has been made so far. One of the things I liked most about Biomutant is the cool weapon creation system, and that your character's hair blows in the wind. But they could have taken so many ideas from Skyrim, like making you able to have followers and being able to get married, buy a house in some settlement of the tribe you're in, have kids.
I wish the game would take itself and the world it poses more seriously instead of sabotaging itself by leaning into the cartoonish with goofy humor.

Wow we apparently got some synergy since I was thinking the exact same thing! I would've loved for the ronin's actions to actually influence the tribes - and maybe even their auras - in some way (or even get kicked out of that tribe if done incorrectly). It would also be a pretty good idea for the most stubborn/extremist tribes to be the most unlikely to change - Lotus and Myriad.
I also really would've loved the concept on multiple endings based on choices made. I feel like both Lotus and Myriad would both automatically get bad endings - especially if you don't alter their aura at all - since their extreme views hinder their ultimate goals. Lotus could inadvertently cause a lot of animosity for their extremist actions - inciting a massive world-wide rebellion. While Myriad's staunch viewpoint could easily get them a ton of enemies who legitimately disagree with them. Instead of both good/bad endings where they just fuck off into space.
What could've been really fun was if the tribe leaders themselves would interact with the ronin outside of the fortresses doing various things by themselves depending on their personalities (which would've developed them a lot and given them something to do when the ronin's not there), maybe even scolding the ronin for actions or for not taking over the rival's outposts (in which it would be neat for the ronin to point out how the leaders don't seem to be doing much either - leading to more individualized responses where some will actually join the next outpost/fortress raid - maybe that could be a persuasion thing)
Also followers! I really wish this game had followers; like imagine each tribe assigns you a personalized tribe follower in the beginning (who becomes optional after a certain point - maybe after completing the second outpost when you get the tribe clothing) who will report your actions to their sifu, help out in fights, talk to you about their opinions about an area or gossip, can be assigned a mount, heck maybe even just do random things like tinkering with a guitar or something. And if you betray that tribe after the follower becomes optional (when they trust you to uphold their beliefs) they become a secondary boss in fortress sifu fights and will always target the ronin relentlessly (maybe even being unkillable) - increasing the fights' difficulty as a consequence for the betrayal (but the beginning might have to be altered so you can pick any tribe from the get-go instead of forcing the player to choose between jagni or myriad - the jagni sifu is already hard enough has is)
I mean, I love some of this game's goofy stupid moments. Choosing not to help someone means just decking them in the face is just hilarious and you cannot tell me otherwise. But yeah I wish it did take itself more seriously too. It could've been something more deep and profound but right now it's a fun turn-your-brain-off-and-yeet kinda game. If I could and if I had a gaming PC, I would absolutely try to make an immersive mod for the game adding all this stuff in to flesh the game out more.
Also yeah the weapon creation mechanic was extremely fun to use (sorry for the mini essay response lol)

Yes, and it would be great if there were more relevant dialogues (for example talking with the leaders) of them commenting on what they think about the other tribes. Myriad, as one of the extremist tribes, for example, could have a bad opinion even of the somewhat light tribes... thinking that these tribes are the same as the somewhat dark ones since it is easy for them to change to one side or the other, worsening. The mechanic of influencing the leader/tribe could only change the aura of the tribe by 2 steps, no more, with which Jagni could go from somewhat dark to somewhat light but Myriad could never stop being light aura.
It would be great if one of the things you could influence a tribe leader with would be to marry him. But Biomutant doesn't even let you choose your character's gender (I think he's male, NPCs imply that). Anyway I would very much like it if gay relationships were possible, just like Skyrim... or even make it better by having you "convince" them to agree to initiate a homosexual relationship.
Another cool possibility (although it would already be a bit, just a bit, more complicated) would have been that the protagonist could build a house "in the middle of nowhere" (like in the Skyrim DLC) or taking advantage of buildings from the ruins of cities... and that it might be possible that throughout the campaign your character's reputation would win him sympathizers everywhere who you could convince to move in with you and build their own homes near yours and with that it could be possible to form your own new tribe (you choosing the name, the tribal weapon and the tribal uniform of warriors, and the aura is the same as your character's) and that you could conquer all the other tribes with your own tribe if you wanted to.
As I said, there are ruins of human cities in very good condition, it would be easy (and very cool) to repair them to use as a new tribal city. Only walls would need to be erected, plus minor repairs.
You said it. The developers used the simplest single ending they could think of. And whether you've done good or bad, your character won't enjoy it because he just saved the valley or he is forced to leave the planet. Super dumb, too. It is one thing that there are still human ruins, but a perfectly functional spaceship? But hey, there is someone who was able to build a very complex robot even though no one even has electricity (I hate the grasshopper robot). Rebuilding a motorboat using incredibly well-preserved parts, or even rebuilding an exoskeleton or armor... I find it plausible, but that's my limit.
Also that if you choose to keep the defeated leader alive and lock him up, then it may still be possible to visit and talk to him (perhaps this could be another powerful way to convince them and change their aura) and they could be placed as your followers (who would think of placing a recently defeated leader as Mayor of a city or as a general or anything? In any case, you give them a position with some hierarchy but just below your rank so that you can correct them, and if they follow you they should help in future battles by always being by your side as your followers).
I don't like mounts. Have you ever run? Perhaps you have not chosen to create a character of the Hyla race. Look at my profile image/photo. It's a screenshot of my character in Biomutant (I spent 30 or 60 minutes going through all the possibilities of the character creator to get to that appearance that is the one I like the most among all the possibilities. Look how perfect it is! It doesn't have bulging teeth, he is tall, thin, quite well proportioned, the truth is the best genetics I could give him), the hyla have quite large feet and the soles of their feet are white unlike the top part, so when he run on 4 legs he look perfectly (and running on all fours looks super adorable!). Though I wouldn't mind if something like a stamina cost was implemented for running like that (and for the character to pant until the stamina bar replenishes would be super cute too).
I too would like to make a mod for Biomutant adding all this, I don't have a bad PC, but I don't know anything about modding. I am willing to learn, I want to make Biomutant something closer to its true potential, but I don't know where I can learn to do what is necessary to create this mod. You can help? Where can I find how to do it? Do you know someone or somewhere?
PS: Look, I have uploaded a few photos of Biomutant to my gallery. I would really appreciate it if you saw them and if you felt that way, then comment what you think of them. I think you'll like them, the last two images are of another Biomutant character of a friend, he made a much cuter character than mine and I thought the world deserved to see him too:
