I went on a drive through some local mountains. I didn't really have a reason, other than I'd heard there was snow and wanted to see it. About half-way through the range, I pulled up to a ranger station/rest stop for a break. While I was having a snack, I saw a sign marking the start of a hiking trail. I was already in solid boots and thought, what the hell, when in Rome.

I didn't get very far; I had no snow gear and barely any layers, so I turned back as soon as I reached an incline steep enough to make my foot slip. However, along the way I'd remembered my brief stint in photography and had my phone at the ready in case I saw something worth taking. There were a few good sights, and I figured they were good enough to share somewhere. And since this is basically my only outlet, here you go, in no particular order.

This one was near where I turned around. The hill was directly ahead, and I assume the trail would have continued up and around the ridge you can see running along the middle.
