I am sure there's a chance she doesn't know what happened to Ziggy, other than "he went to jail".
But she doomed him to a life of pain, scars, castration, fear of women and being hated by the whole city. Until he reached the new city after the pandemic, at least.
A story like this is good if based on genuine facts, and yet hers is built on lies.
As much as she means good in the end, she ended up threatening an entire family's life just to get what she wants. You can't put that in good light.
She would have ordered to kill innocents just to send another innocent person in prison and prove her point and make profit on a story that could have happened fo real to someone better than her, she doesn't deserve compassion. :|
I wonder if her mentality about not regretting what she did will change in she finds herself in a negatively life changing situation she can't escape from.

This reads less like "I want to atone" and more like "I'm tired of feeling guilty and want to pin the blame on others". While it's true that she is not solely responsible for Zag's fate, it's far too easy for everyone to say "I wouldn'tve let it get that far if X hadn't done Y." She needs to apologize. Everyone from the crowd, the blackmailer, Aileen, the judge, everyone is responsible; and all of them can pin their reactions on the other. They are each responsible for their own actions. But I kind of doubt any of them would. Far easier to say that someone else made them do it.
Huh.
You took a person framed as a straight-up villain and gave them depth. She's still got an evil trend in her, but she's come to regret it a bit, calling herself from her teenage years negatively. Plus this implies she's still got flak and hatred for it despite framing herself as a heroic survivor. So she DID get some Karma in the end. But she's still doing that thing where she says everyone who's blaming her has "Delusions of moral superiority" so maybe still being selfish?
But...she's calling out Misandry. Which implies she's disgusted by the people using her to attack men rather than her previous stance of superiority.
Javi, I gotta applaud you for making her a layered character and not just a "Mwahahaha me villain" cutout. Well done. I think you might be a good writer as well as artist ;)

I really want her to face justice for her actions. She did not Geld Zaggy, but caused him to go to prison and there he suffered. would love to see her suffer too, but perhaps the is the point of the story. some people get away with monstrous stuff and you can't do anything about it.
you know, I never did ask if the person in the prison who mutilated Zaggy ever faced more time because he did so. I will admit Zaggy should have a great thirst for revenge. I would at least see his mutilation be cured, his maleness restored, perhaps even for the dragon lady with him. pretty sure they are in love...
I have a theory. Because reality can be so horrifically unfair, fiction is often a source of catharsis because it (usually) shows good being rewarded and evil being punished. When you follow a fictional character and come to identify with them, especially when they suffer unjustly like Zaggy, you want to see them happy -- and you want anyone who has hurt them to pay for it. And when someone like Aileen hurts an innocent person in such a deeply personal way, a lot of people will want her suffering to be commensurate with his. But as Dr. Javi points out, the problem is that while revenge feels good for a while, it doesn't really solve anything.
My first reaction was to wish something equally evil on Aileen, but that would only lower me to her level. She refuses to accept that what she did was wrong and repugnant, and reviles the public for shaming her.
"I have terminated the publishing contract for my first book."
Translation: her publisher dropped her like a hot rock.
You can't hide far enough away, Aileen. Karma has everyone's home address -- and lots of patience. I'm willing to bet that the husband she mentioned is abusive, either mentally or physically. Women like her seem attracted to the abusive type. It happened to two girls I went to high school with, and three more I worked with. And I will sit, with folded hands, and do nothing.

If someone truly strives to fix their wrongs, they deserve a second chance... It feels like society today feels people can't change... We all grow if we take time to learn from mistakes, either made by others, or our own. So, before anyone takes out the pointing finger of accusing, reflect on how people may view your own transgressions of your past, and instead, maybe offer a hand of guidance to help steer the person in the right direction before things get out of hand. *though sadly, some folks are not fit to listen in their current state of mania, and will have to learn the hard way. Alas, they may need that second chance if they seek it after their mind is clear and see what they have done.
tl;dr: Folks in the world need to chill the urge to vilify. Most folks make mistakes, allow them to mend the situation.

Hmmm going over the weighing I guess it is good she atlest knows what she did was wrong and atlest wants to clean up her mess but I would have thought she would have gotten some sort of punishment jail time house arrest heck even cammunity service ...
Hmm now I'm wondering if you didn't expect her to get this much negative reaction for her😗

It can be hard to tell. Ultimately, repentance is a choice, like many things, and cannot be forced. All we can do is argue with them and offer guidance and understanding. It's up to them to turn away from their path of destruction - for the wages of sin is indeed death, of many sorts - and choose life and atonement.
If we are to change, it is up to us to choose it. Every day until our path corrects itself, and we find a better life ahead of us.

Okay, I can appreciate that she's supposedly trying to make amends for what she did. And I can also buy that she doesn't know the full details of what happened to Zaggy after he got sent away; after all, so much time has passed and a lot of things have happened in the meantime. But even so, it's still not enough.
For one thing, she's blaming the public for what happened to Zaggy and those that tried to help him, while forgetting she's the one that got them going in the first place. She WANTED them to be an angry mob. She can't just wash her hands of it and say it wasn't her fault people went psychotic. Also, the moment you send someone to jail on false charges, it becomes more than just a "dumb attention-starved teenager's screw-up".
Which brings me to another point. This girl falsely accused a minor of a VERY serious crime AND lied in open court. Assuming the judicial system in this world is similar to our own, she's liable to be brought up on charges of perjury AND false imprisonment at the very least. And then there's her book contract and all her speaking tours. Since all of that was based on her story supposedly being true, she's also liable for fraud charges AND lawsuits from the people who published her book and funded her tours.
Admitting what she did and donating her money to Zaggy is a good start, but it's not enough; it's like she gets off scot-free because she threw some money around. I'm all about forgiveness and making amends, and I don't think she should be tortured or harassed or anything, but there should be SOME kind of punishment for what she did, and if she was truly repentant she'd accept it without argument.

Unfortunately I belong to the crowed that says there are some lines you may never cross. And she crossed a lot of them. I don't make a distinction between the instigator and the continual perpetrator, you don't get a just society allowing this level of injustice to fester. The only kind thing to do is to keep her out of Esperanza until she expires of natural causes. The wonderful thing about fictional characters? You can punish or reward them as much as you wish, I'd rather see suffering for the wicked than sensible outcomes on occasion, too many lines have been crossed. I tend to treat this level of line-crossing like a zombie apocalypse. Gatling guns tend to be effective solutions for zealot crowds and their cult leaders.
There are so many coughs to make at this, but to summarize them: You can't undo what you done with hollow words and moeny now matter how much. When you ruin someone's life and future over something trivial you could say sorry and even make him a billionare but the scars will forever remain on their psyche, body, and soul. :(
