...but also fun to chase and play with. >.=.>

This is a truly awesome portrait made by sioorma of Tylos playfully chasing an old friend of mine named Dinner. Dinner was a Tilapia I caught almost 10 years ago as a tiny baby, no bigger than my thumbnail. He grew to at least 10 inches long and had incredible color and personality. He would splash everyone who got too close to the tank unless it was me. He warmed my heart and I miss him dearly. He passed some years ago but I've been thinking about him quit a bit lately.
Tylos is omnivorous but chooses to be a herbivore. He still has predatory instincts that can sometimes get the best of him but he always snaps out of the chase. He doesn't bite down or puncture skin or scales, no harm is done to fish other than the stress of the chase if they are unaware that Tylos isn't actually going to eat them.
This is Tylos having a good time with an old friend. I miss you, Dinner. You were a cool fish and a very meaningful companion. I appreciate the time we spent together.
And a very big thank-you to sioorma for bringing Tylos and Dinner together! Sioorma is a brilliant artist and I want all the arts from them. XD

Awww, I'm sorry to hear about your friend Dinner. I know you said he passed years ago but still...
It is true that fish can be friends. I love seeing my fish every day (African cichlids), especially when I come home from work. They do recognize different people which I can tell by the way they react to either me or my mate. They all have their own fishy personalities and their behavior is often funny. Some will even let me pet them. Its silly but they do bring me a lot of happiness.
Bottom line, I understand they're not just fish as many see it.
A nice piece of art to dedicate to the memory of Dinner.

Tylos has such a cool design, I always admire art of your character when I see it! And thank you for sharing your story about Dinner. Fish are very cool and have unique personalities and lives, they are so underrated and overlooked as the intelligent and complex animals that they are.
Thank you for your kind words, it’s so great that you get it. It’s always the animals that are undervalued and exploited that make some of the best companions: Rats, Fish, Chickens, etc.
I still miss him so much, but I’m thankful he made such an impact on my life.
And I’m stoked you like Tylos, he is a good, long gator-birb of a dragon. <3
