I’m building an earthbag mostly underground multipurpose room (man cave). My advice is be prepared for a LOT of work. The dome is a steel frame with a durable membrane over. It was very cost effective and easy to put up quickly. We will spray foam insulate the inside and it will have a big loft. With loft it’s about 1100sqft. What to see more on our projects? That is definitely one of the considerations. I'm wanting definitely a more dry climate, arizona or nevada say, so I shouldn't have to worry too much about moisture wicking, but digging in would definitely be a big help for insulation against the heat.
