The wind kicked up, blowing black smoke around the small group that had already been through too much. He was angry, incredibly angry, and they were the reason. They had chased after him, followed him through space and time, and now took away his vessel.
Said vessel was using his long legs to carry him closer and closer to the portal, their ticket out of this madhouse. That's when he heard it. A squeak, one that he had heard hundreds of times and had he a working heart in his chest it would have stopped. Serif. He had tripped over something and had fallen. It was a falling kind of squeak that the bird made when he fell, normally tripping over Ringmaster's shoes.
Stopping in his tracks, Ring spun around and sought out his friend. As the others passed him, he found Schrecklich kneeling besides the fish hawk, trying to drag him to their exit. The hawk was trying to get up, legs still weak from the surge of magic that had passed through him not long ago. Creatures like him were NOT meant to take that much power.
"Schre, go." The mouse looked to the human, confusion written across his face. "Just go. I'll take care of him, don't worry." The mouse paused for a moment longer, looking to Serif who gave him a nod. Then he stood, and started to run after the others, stopping just long enough to give Ring a strict look.
"You are WAY too calm human. You better bring him back."
'I will.' Ringmaster watched him leave before grinning at Serif.
"Hold onto your glasses." Ring's eye started to glow as Staff squirmed in his hand, shrinking in size to offer more of his power to his master. A ball formed in Ring's free hand, ready to set everything to rights.
I like this one. I tried to do it in MS Paint, but the eraser tool wasn't working. I like photoshop better anyway.
