The iguana muttered, his blue eyes tracing across the words. Rangy's life had been filled with much luck and many blessings, but despite his cool, leveled attitude, and supremely late formal education, his reading skills struggled often in the wilting hours of Elain's shift. Still, away from the micros, summer heat, and endless dry plains of Mirabeu, a certain iguana found himself in the shoes of another: a sailor just as suave as he was, he had to say. And who would disagree? Certainly not him.
"Timothy? Timothy?"
A curious feline poked her head between the aisles of Mirabeu's library, the twilight sun casting the iguana's hiding spot in harsh shadows.
"I can hear you murmuring from the couch."
"Nothin', nothin'," Rangy slid his finger along the edge of the page, folding his spot for future daring-do.

(I'm sorry not sorry because it is an absolutely sweet moment of character development, but I couldn't help but hear that song in my head when the lizard's getting so lost in his reading <3 I'm sure Elain would be very proud >;D
But in all seriousness, a REAL gorgeous piece =D The coloring, and detailing is just phenomenal! Really makes for a nice idealized version of the reader IN the story ;3.)
