I had to do some serious number crunching to avoid explosive out-growing of Earth and keep things interesting enough for the majority of my fans. Essentially, “.01%” means adding “.0001” to the multiplier due to how percents work. This kept the growth rates exponential enough to outgrow Betelgeuse by the end of the month and wear it like a pendant in their chest fluff without putting them in the immense void that comes between stars and nebulas or nebulas and galaxies, while still making the voting/retweeting feel important and valuable.

I'm trying to do exactly, for example, 253 * 0.01% = 0.0253 so I don't understand what I'm doing differently.
