I caught a baby mouse before the cat did. That's a quarter in the picture, for scale.

I used a sock to pick it up, it wasn't old enough or smart enough to realize it should run away. Plunked him the jar for a couple minutes to let him calm down after being picked up and then let him go outside on the log pile.

This one was lucky, the cat was in the other room.
