I've mentioned it several times. Many times. Too many times. Enough times that people are probably sick of hearing it.
But I love Halloween.
*shocked Pikachu face*
Anyway, I also am a huge fan of Magic: the Gathering. So this year, I decided on an idea. To do commissions of many of my characters as some of my favorite Commanders of my favorite Commander decks. For those who don't know, there are Legendary creatures, creatures with names and typically stronger abilities. A format of MTG is Commander, where they are basically the general of the deck and you build a 100 card deck around them, no duplicates aside from the basic lands you use to cast spells with. And so here we are, three of my (many) favorites.
First up is my ninja Kuro, going as a legend in his world of Kamigawa, the Nezumi leader Marrow-Gnawer. Aside from the in-game lore that made this rat a powerful leader in his own right, his ability to swarm the board by creating more and more rats is just fun. And as a mono-black commander, I found the color restriction a fun challenge. Plus I liked Kamigawa, so it was an added bonus. So Kuro here is posing, ready to strike with his chained kamas, proud to represent his race.
Next up, Sukarno as Chulane, Teller of Tales. Not much is known about this magic storyteller, but his ability to add lands and draw cards as you cast creature spells, adding characters and settings to his stories, is very strong. And Sukarno as a bit of a storyteller himself as a tabletop player just ate up the idea of going as a powerful druid, and is currently hamming it up.
And lastly, myself as Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper. The inspiration for my evil otherworld sona, Ryo Deathseeker, this orc shaman from Dominaria's Ice Age is a feared being who sacrificed his followers in a fit of rage, but they so revered him they came back to serve him in death. After being touched by an otherworldly being, he began his campaign of destruction. After his defeat he vanished and never returned, but is rumored to still be around to this day. So here I am, dressed to impress, complete with graveborn puppets to do my bidding. Now go get me some candy, my minions! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-*coughcoughcough*
