Tegon is well known for exploring (not-so-heavenly) bodies, but really he's up for exploring anything new. That includes far-flung planets that may have valuable minerals or undiscovered sentient life. He'd better be careful, though - the sensory deprivation of space travel paired with strange alien substances can make things a little trippy.
This commission was inspired by a real-life animation of the surface of a comet, as well as a colorful effect seen when Mario falls into the abyss of the Comet Observatory in Super Mario Galaxy. The composition was meant to be reminicent of pulpy sci-fi novels.
