Another reimagining of mine, this time based on the Lucasfilm animated series Ewoks, a show I really liked as a kid.
I wrote up a mythology (origins of Endor and the Sunstarshadowstone, spirit trees etc...), tried to deepen the characters, explain some loose threads and basically stay faithful but update the concept.
A lot of people write off the show as a lazy sell out and maybe it was initially, but I think the characters had some very interesting personalities and interactions. Each character had clear failings of personality as well as virtues which was rare depth for a children's television show, which even today still shy away from showing heroes with flaws. Certainly it was juvenile but it was still in that time of the 80s when kids shows were allowed to feature real peril at times and unflinching references to the harsher realities including death.
So yes, this is my attempt to make Ewoks interesting. Was I successful? We'll see XD
