As this is DC related content, and my husband and I have a similarly uplifting relationship, I'd like to share that sometimes, my ferret and I see ourselves as Blue and Green Lanterns respectively.
When I learned about the Blackest Night series, and the revelation of other warriors on the emotional spectrum beyond Green and Yellow in the DCU, I was fascinated to say the least. It all made a good deal of sense to me, particularly the part about the Blue and Green Lanterns needing to pair off together to be most effective.
For those who don't know, The colors of the recognized visual spectrum are representative of different emotions in the Green Lantern continuity. The most relevant bit is that Green is willpower (the drive to do things) and Blue is hope (the wish for better things). Blue Lanterns draw strength and superpower from the hopes of making things better, but when paired with a Green Lantern, with the will to enact those wishes, both become more powerful, like my ferret husband, who holds out hope in life constantly despite my cynicism, and me, who pushes through that cynicism daily with the hope my husband shares with me.
All that said though...
Until Batman gets a sense of humor, a steady girlfriend, and a mech armor suit...
