Errr, other then that a very powerful piece, just gotta avoid my own powerful personal reaction to... maggots DX

This is such and amazing picture. It's a great beauty in the natural cycle of life type of way where everything must decay at some point. I actually like the simplified maggots. It almost reminds me of Miyazaki in a way. Not style wise, but more of the whimsy, and something gross still being beautiful. I can't quite explain it. But I think them being simplified helps it have a magical feel. If they were too realistic I think it would look for matter of fact and like just a scene of decay, and it would loose that whimsy.
