he was an actual full on asshole, but people liked how i RPed an asshole, so while all the characters in universe hated him, all the players loved him. He was very "Might makes right" and "power equals freedom" ontop of being much smarter than the average person, but he allocated all that intelligence to pissing other people off and getting power that he himself would control. Power from any source was meaningless to him, because freedom only comes from power that has no strings attached and comes from yourself alone.
