Have you tried turning it off and on again?
I was told that I should write again, and truth be told I have missed this.
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Tentatively searching for the things that don't mean nothing, I find myself falling into you
Running through my mind with caution tape behind, I mark the things I shouldn't do
But why this feels so real in the dusk approaching here, I cannot justify
So I've decided to give up on calling my heart's bluff and have comfort where I lie
Finding silence in the cadence of a circulatory system I let my eyes drift closed
But soon this night is done and in the sleep I can't outrun my mind gallops unopposed
A singular desire for lips to conspire that nothing else can appease
Barely waking moments lay waste to any pretense and blur the lines of possibilities
Nervously I ascend the rickety steps to the den with expectations high
But you say we need to speak and with your mystique I must comply
I smile falteringly as I question why I did not foresee this annotation previously
It will take more than a conversation to come to the realization that this was little more than a dream
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
