Part 1 - Awaken
It was a lovely morning when the alarm clock started beeping at exactly 6:00AM, annoyingly awaking the nearby muscular deer-wolf. After having dealt with the alarm clock, he got up and out the blanket, wearing nothing but his light gray underwear.
'Another day I wake up, another round of morning exercises I will do,' said the dazed deer-wolf, as he grabbed shorts, a sleeveless shirt, and a pair of sneakers. Going by the name Kevin, he checked up on a walled calendar. 'I guess it's just another regular day today, time to get dressed.'
Meanwhile, the brown fox was biking through the suburbs, while holding another running bicycle. Apparently, he was in a middle of conversation with his friend via his wireless earphone, saying 'Sure buddy, I'm gonna pass by my new friend's house and return his bike. And then, I'll join you there later. Ah yes, I'll see whether he wishes to go with me today. See you there bud.'
Part 2 - Intertwine
Kevin went out to his backyard, fully dressed for a physical exercise. For half an hour, he had been working out on a grassy ground, mostly doing push-ups and pull-ups, not minding being stained with soil, dirt, dust and grass. Once done, he removed his sleeveless shirt to take a glance on his sweaty pecs and abs with a confident smile and a say, 'Dang man, I look so stunning. Hopefully one day, I'll be in a legal age to enter the bodybuilding contest.' He began doing various poses with enjoyment of watching his hot body move. Afterwards, he wiped away most of the sweat still left on his body with his face towel, and undressed his shorts. Naked (barring his shoes still worn) yet unfazed, he hanged his sweaty clothes up on a clothesline and returned back to his house for his bathroom
However, Timothy had stopped by Kevin's house and brought the deer-wolf's bike into the front door, and then pressed a door bell. Hearing a 'ding-dong' tune, Kevin quickly covered his waist with a towel and ran to the front door. As Kevin opened the door, he was surprised to see his new friend whom he hadn't done so for few months. 'Timothy? Man, it's been a long while! And is that my bike?'
Part 3 - Prepare
'Good to see you again Kevin,' said Timothy, 'and yeah, I passed by your friend an hour ago who asked me to bring this to you.'
'Ai, of course. I broke my bike back in a biking race accident two days a--'
'An accident? Were you hurt?'
'A little. Just a bruise on my knees, the pain went away yesterday.'
'Nothing worse?'
'Nope, thanks for bringing back my bike, buddy!'
'You're welcome Kev. By the way, I'm on my way to meet my friend in the Blue Pearl Mall. You're in?'
'Sure thing bud. Frankly, I never have anything to do this week anyway. So what are you planning to do once you're in there?'
'My friend and I are planning to play on the new arcade machine. You done bathing, bro?' as Timothy pointed at the towel Kevin is wearing.
'Oh yeah, no. But first, you want some snacks? Bathing takes minutes, but feel free to watch my TV.'
'Well, I haven't had a breakfast today, so why not.'
Shortly after, Kevin distributed a bowl of biscuits to Timothy, who now sat in the living room facing the television. As Kevin began bathing, Timothy took a bite on a chocolate bar and turned on the TV.
After 15 minutes, Kevin showed up, in a green hooded jacket covering the black shirt, black pants and a pair of dark gray boots, to Timothy. 'Hey bro, how do I look?' Timothy, still chewing on the third chocolate, smiled, nodded and gave out a thumbs up. He stood up and offered Kevin the last chocolate bar, Kevin replied 'Thanks, but I'll pass.' However, Timothy insistently nudged, 'Alright Tim, I haven't eaten anything either anyway.'
Part 4 - Mall
After half an hour later, Timothy and Kevin had arrived with bikes at the Blue Pearl Mall. 'Here we are Kevin, the Blue Pearl Mall, newly built since last month.'
Kevin replied 'Oh yeah, Ethan and I actually went there on its opening day. We enjoyed fooling around the mall, heck we even did a lot of parkour. In the end, we got banned from that mall for few weeks.'
'Ouch, that oughta hurt. But has your ban filled its time?'
'Hopefully so. Still, let's get in. And one thing, we just ate snacks. We're in a need to eat breakfast.'
'Good point Kev. Let's stop by the place run by the red bee, for hotcakes.'
Another hour later, Timothy and Kevin roamed around the mall until they reached the Arcade area, which was filled with many arcade machines made in various countries, ranging from Japanese-made rhythm games to American-made military FPS games. However, the most interesting thing the two would want to try out is the recently released Korean sci-fi shooter game, whose enemies meant to be shot were terrorists of many sides and the giant spaceship set to brainwash or even lobotomize innocent civilians, and it was up to two players to eliminate the global threat.
For half an hour did Timothy and Kevin enjoy playing this new game, but then they were greeted by Timothy's dingo friend Diego and their female acquaintance Edimay watching the gameplay.
'Blimey! This is what I was about to show you today! How did you know that, mate?!' said the excited dingo
Timothy quickly turned to Diego and was surprised to hear his comment, saying 'Oh hey Dig, I have no idea! Kevin and I were looking around in this mall until we stepped foot into this arcade game! Oh good morning Edimay'
Edimay replied 'Good morning Timothy, I met your dingo friend back when I was eating breakfast in the Food Centre'
Diego added 'Well, I was so excited for this game, that I ended up hungry earlier.'
'He actually asked me to play with him on this game, and I have to say it's difficult but amazing, although I'm not much into shooter games like this.'
Kevin interrupted 'Not now guys, let us finish the game first!', still focused on the game.
Just past several minutes, Kevin and Timothy had defeated the final boss and finished the game, albeit at the cost of last life in Timothy's part. Surprisingly out of 20 high scores, the first ten had more than a million points, followed by scores of Kevin and Diego, which were 100 thousand and 97 thousand points respectively.
Kevin was astonished to say 'Woah! That's a million points in these first ten! How did these players get these so high?!'
Edimay chuckled and replied 'This game has another mode, which is much harder but more rewarding. Once you put another coin, you'll get to the menu where you can choose between the Normal Mode and the Death Mode'
Timothy replied 'Yeesh, that could have said Hard Mode instead, but there's no info regarding this mode, especially when Kevin hovered his aim over that.'
Diego answered 'Aight, that mode sounds vague rather than self-explanatory to ya, doesn't it? It's meant to be a surprise for experienced shooter players.'
'Is that so Dig?'
Edimay replied 'Yeah Timothy. After having spent my last game life, I was approached by another player who's used to this game. You see, this game's company had a previous game which left fans disappointed, mainly due to its inclusion of Easy Mode.'
'Did that please the critics?'
Diego answered 'It actually did, but it was a year after the group of bright-haired American critics came to Seoul and literally attacked the game company staff'
This shocked Kevin, who asked 'What? They literally went to Seoul, just to trash their place?'
Edimay replied 'Not just trashing the workplace, those critics literally used anything blunt to even hurt the staff, all because the game company refused to give in their demands by making games that satisfy its fans.'
Diego continued 'It prompted the Korean and Japanese governments to investigate, but once they learned about the review scandal supporting the company's previous but subpar game, they concluded it was forced to sacrifice its qualities just to literally save its staff from those selfish d*ckheads. They imposed serious amounts of policies to protect video game companies, and even forced the American government to intervene to ensure no threats were made.'
Edimay ended 'And those bright-colored haired critics were both banned from East Asia and imprisoned for their crimes.'
Timothy added 'Sounds like those critics are obsessed with games like these, but up to the point of forcing changes upon foreign-made games?'
Diego confirmed 'Yeah, many critics like those have been increasingly envious and, at worst, psychopathic since the American action game, about some warrior resisting the Mongol invasion on some Japanese island, got genuinely amazing reviews.'
Kevin was dumbfounded by this, and remarked 'Okaay, this is some deep level of a topic here. It's just a video game.'
Timothy butted in, saying 'To people like those critics, it's not. But let's digress and move on. Even I want to get that disturbing situation off my head.'
Diego became excited again and asked 'Great idea mate, you up for co-op with me?'
'Ummm...Hey Kev, what about--'
But as Timothy turned to Kevin, he saw the wolf-deer being dragged away with Edimay, who wanted to get to know him. Diego quickly noticed this and smugly called Timothy out, 'Well well Tim, trying to excuse yourself from playing with me, eh?'
Timothy sheepishly agreed, 'Yeeeah, I got overwhelmed by this game. I just need to rest my hands and eyes for a while.'
'It's alright mate, that she-wolf got herself in the same state. Come on, let's get ya some cold drink. Pretty sure it will calm ya down, right?'
