if she's thinking what i believe she's thinking, she's sorely underestimating the intellect of her target.

nice storytelling, chap. i've seen plenty of novels in print that weren't nearly this capable of subtlety.

Could be then the exposure to the nature of her new land has had her learning to sharpen other weapons like her intellect rather than just her sword arm. As an elite warrior she'd not be the best if she didn't have the ability to learn and adapt to new situations quickly.
