Panel 1:
Rhino: I am growing tired of these games of yours, you annoying little brat!
Tell me what you are hidding in there already!
Lily: I'VE TOLD YOU! I JUST HAVE APPLES!
Rhino: And why in the world would you be risking so much just for some apples??
Lily: n.. no...
mom would be sad...
Panel 2:
Rhino: What was that?
==========================================
...Usually I think those kind of details are way cooler if they are left for the audience to notice by themselves... but I really don't think anyone would bother overanilizing this comic that much, so I will be the one pointing it out! XD
Notice how Nicholas attacked the Rhino here...
He didn't said a word!
It goes in absolute contrast with the classic and heroic "Stay away from her!" that he yelled in page 13, when he first appeared to save Lily.
When he said that, he was not only saying it to... well... actually tell tthem to stay away from his sister... but he was also warning his foes from his presence, so they could have a fair fight.
Another lore detail is that Nicholas never killed before. Yup! Not even during the events of the original game!
He fight to defeat his enemies, hurting them as necessary, but he never actually gave the finishing blow... that is one of the reasons he got worried even about the pumas in the previous page.
However... that Rhino... that who not only attacked his sister, a defenseless little girl, but also completely ignored him in a fair fight, to keep hunting her down...
Nicholas couldn't forgive that... and he is getting despaired...
So he attacked without saying a word because here, for a brief moment, he was actually ready for killing his enemy from behing with no warning whatsoever!
...
But well... he failed...
HE FAILED BAD!

Also, a tip: Hit "Update source file" and upload the original. It should display full size and resolution. This is a little FA hack, which is really helpful for comics, as the default resolution makes reading the panels a bit harder ;)
And WOW!
Amazing tip!
Thanks a lot for that as well! ^^
...just... what do you mean by "upload the original"? You mean the PSD file?
...
I usually just click "open image in another tab" to see images around here in a better size... ^^;
About the Rhino...
Well... let's only say he just got angrier! XD
And he can't grasp that the sister of a great hero who saved the country who would be so concerned over a bag of apples...
Pretty much! XD
And yeah... but he is not just being stubborn for no reason!
Near the ending of the comic you will understand why he was so obsessed over that bag! XD
Other than that... he didn't mind... he likes living in his cozy little house with his family! ^^
Also, that´s actually a good question. In your world, there is 'aura'?
Most of his practice is alone, because his master rarely is in the village, but what he teaches has its value, and Nicholas practice a lot these principles.
About, "aura"... I am not sure if that is what you mean, but this world does have a magic system... what explains the original game having a wizard character.
I even created a diagram for this system in my first "Lore and Claws": https://www.furaffinity.net/view/40967775/
but I still have to create a part 2 to fully explain the magic system in this world... what I will do AFTER finishing the comic, otherwise we would get some spoilers... ^^;
But, still... it is not that kind of stuff that is so easy to learn.
Unless you want to become a wizard, spending much time trying to master magic isn't worth it, and that is not Nicholas' goal.
In OVERLORD, they are called martial arts, but it´s actually the same thing
take a look later if you want, because it´s cool and it can help you if you want to expand your universe
Well... I guess I could take a look eventually to understand it better... ^^;
There´s this 5 minutes video that explain it pretty well
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TwYINCIKUw
It does seem like a pretty interesting concept.
And all I have to say is that, in the world of Swords and Claws, it is possible to get stronger, faster, more agile, and even develop powerful special techniques... just like what we have in real life training, or by learning martial arts, mastering the "chi" and stuff... and like in many action cartoons, in a way that can go beyond what would be actually possible in real life.
I mean... Nicholas cutted half of a tree in a single sword slash in the first page... that is quite an impressive feat.
However, I wouldn't say there is anything in this world that could compares too well to the Aura of the Overlord word.
One of the reasons for that is because, even if I want the world of Swords and Claws to have magic and Fantastic elements, I still want it to be reasonably "grounded".
I want magic to exist, but I want it to be something rare enough for most normal people to spend their lives doubting its existence (just like what you see in the page in which the female puma claims that wizards aren't real), and I want that someone facing alone multiple enemies to be something fenomenal... so I didn't wanted to give anything that would allow that many people with phenomenal skills to exist.
There are characters with a lot of skills.
But to win battles in great numeric disadvantage is still something pretty uncommon, even for wizards or monsters, depending on how many people are facing them, being strategy what can speak higher in most scenarios.
The only thing that could actually take down great numbers of enemies with relative ease would be the "Ancient Ones"... but speaking of them here would be a no no, because of massive spoilers reasons! XD
I was not referring to "chi" like in a Dragon Ball sense.
I was talking about the chi that is mentioned in real life martial arts.
It allow people to do impressive stuff... but not THAT impressive...
Basically martial arts but they use internal energy (qi, chakra, and many other names) to empower themselves and use some energy stuff
They are mostly used in chinese novels and series, but sometimes they are adapted to the western style
A good example is "Iron Fist" from Marvel comics
And when it comes to overanalysing, there are things that a reader may not notice during first reading, but his brain will do. It's good to think about little details like that. I do it very often in my comics. Something about how character acts or something in the background may not be noticed at first, but it helps to bulid the world.
That kind of stuff is very interesting, and usually helps to keep the public engaged! ^^
In fact, this comic also have a lot of stuff hidden around there, that will only make sense in the future pages. But this in particular was indeed a detail I found quite interesting, and indeed there wouldn't be that much referring back to it... I mean... focus on "that much"...
But still... I thought the vast majority of the readers could completely miss it even through a second read. That is why I decided to point it out! XD
But, to be fair... most things are.
The very reason he guillotine was created is because, even someone standing in their knees with the neck in the perfect position for an execution, and the executioner having a huge axe, it could still take several blows to the neck to fully chop it off...
Wood is also pretty hard... a full strenght strike most of the times can't do much more than throwing around a bunch of wood chips.
So, considering that Nicholas cutted half a tree in a single strike in the beggining of the comic, what could only be explained by "cartoon logic"... then yeah... this rhino probably would have to be way tougher than a regular rhino...
But in that case, that also could be explained by cartoon logic... what wouldn't be that much of a stretch... I already had several characters surviving almost unharmed from some really hard falls in this very same comic! XD
