Lex was a young lass that was born with what appeared to be a glowing holy eye. One that radiated a divine light and energy to it, her parents who worked for a special sect of a holy church saw their daughter as a blessing from the gods above. Lex's parents worked with the church as demon hunters that would travel all around the world and do their best to seal and kill demons and other horrific entities that posed a threat to the world. They would struggle at times as there were some monstrosities not even they could defeat, so they had to come up with some kind of solution to continue their holy mission. Upon looking at their 3-year-old daughter they had an idea, they took Lex to an underground laboratory that was part of the church's secret experimenting facility for weapons and other things to fight unholy creatures. Her parents gave up Lex to the researchers to find a way to weaponize her holy eyes. But the researchers opted to do something else with Lex's eyes instead. They ran many horrific experiments upon Lex and after a good few years, they managed to corrupt one of Lex's eyes to have a more demonic tinge to it. Her parents questioned them on what the reason was for such a thing, but once they showed them that the demonic eye could capture and seal demons in it thanks to the holy eye, her parents concern quickly faded.
So for many years of Lex's life she was dragged around by her parents to deal with the horrific beasts and monstrosities of the world they couldn't deal with. It slowly started coming to the point in time where her parents stopped trying as hard to defeat demons and just forced Lex to seal them in her eye. Lex's parents had stopped seeing their daughter as a daughter and more as a weapon they could use to keep the world safer in their eyes. But for Lex, the sealed demons and entities weren't just locked away unable to do anything. There were so many sealed within her eye, and all of them were shouting, screaming, saying things to her, horrible things. Lex had to listen to their words constantly since she was 5 years old, and they only got worse and louder as the years went on and more were sealed within her. The voices, their words, they grated at her sanity at her mind, it was so hard to focus or concentrate on even her own thoughts and words. Sometimes if Lex was weakened or her mind faltered the demons would say things for her, things she wouldn't say or they just spoke through her. Lex was living a constant nightmare that she couldn't escape from, and one day she snapped, the thoughts she was forced to listen to, the things she was forced to see and do, she couldn't keep stop herself from doing something horrible.
That day she would never forget, her parents dragged her off to a destroyed church and fought a massive beast of many mouths, it constantly whispered, shouted, spoke horrible thoughts and words constantly. Her parents struggled to injure the beast, let alone weaken it before Lex's parents ran to their "daughter" and forced her to use the eye and seal the entity away just like all the others. But the creature was not weakened at all, it thrashed about in her mind and was louder than all the voices she was forced to listen to. Lex struggled to keep herself in control, but the entity forced her to suck up all other "Monsters" around her into her eye... There were no other monsters in the area, except for two... her parents. Lex had no one else in her life at that point, her parents albeit only saw her as a weapon, were still her parents, even with the monsters constantly talking to her, referring to them as the true monsters, Lex was able to keep those thoughts at bay. But this creature was far more powerful than anything her parents made her seal away, and it made Lex lash out, forcing the eye to activate and drag both her parents into it.
Time kept moving on, Lex was alone, lost, she managed to escape the sights of the church and did her best to try and live her life, but the voices never stopped. They were worse than ever before with that new entity in her head telling her unspeakable things louder than all others rambling. It kept telling her to do things, terrible things, kill, murder, slaughter, and sin, the only way to quiet it down was to do the latter. So Lex would move about and do just that, she would fight people with little provocation, perform sexual acts with others and steal whenever she could. All those things would quiet the voices down, even pain, so if she couldn't find someone to use as an outlet she would have to injure herself. Lex despised the acts she did, but only continued doing them because she knew if she didn't, she wouldn't be able to keep going in life. As time went on she tried to keep telling herself that what she was doing was good, if she gave up and ended her life she would only just end up releasing a horde of monsters upon the world. But at the same time, the constant torment of what they put her through was grating at her sanity, slowly draining her will to keep going.
That was until she met a young lad by the name of Zen, they always seemed so optimistic and energetic. And despite her mismatched eyes and hair, they treated her like a normal person when others shunned her. Even when she performed acts to alleviate the voices, they still stayed with her, even forming a small band of mercenaries to travel about and help others. In the group she was accepted and treated well, Lex was actually able to genuinely laugh at times instead of just faking it. Her joy made the voices louder, but Zen and the others in their band kept giving her the willpower to not give in. Sure she had to perform the acts a little more often, but just to keep being with the others it was worth it in her eyes.
