Well might wanna explain this abit. Ronan is a big wolfie, that's why the cow looks so small. Now Ronan isn't a people person and travels alone most of the time and well this little pup lost it's mommy. But the puppy doesn't even know what his mommy looked like so as far as the pup is concearned ... Ronan is his new mommy.
