Coloured version of this old sketch.

According to the sketch, I completed it on September 7, 2005, and I completed it at like 12:10am last night. One day shy of five years, holy crap.


So my original thought (which came to me as I was replying to a post by  mccormig) was to colour it as an extreme black and white contrast (similar in style to some of Frank Miller's work). As I was colouring it I decided I wanted to keep in the original sketch work on the fox to add a few subtle details that would otherwise be missed. Then as I was creating the backdrop, I abandoned my original idea and went for a more stylistic approach. I think the blending of both of those ideas worked quite well -- both the similarities in shading and the differences in detail between foreground and background almost seem to complement one another. I didn't bother keeping the lyrics adorning the buildings as per the original sketch, but that's okay since I think it's better without them here.

So yeah, I'm happy with this piece =^_^=
