Halloween Bread Delivery 3/3 Final (By Home-Made)
The evening light faded. Trick-or-treating has already entered full swing in the humble, but thriving village.
But an ominous rumble approaches the village square. The sound grows more urgent.
Folks call out warnings from the outskirts, their voices punctuated by sharp crashes. The commotion draws steadily nearer.
Frissura's clarion voice bugled through the night. "GIVE WAY! I'LL TRY TO–"
It was unclear what she meant to try, because the loaded wagon behind her simultaneously dipped and caught a trench, cartwheeled, and tossed her like a trebuchet.
She flew like a comet, chased by a rain of self-destructing wagon debris, before unceremoniously penetrating a second-level wall.
For his part, Nurth was still just along for the ride. He tumbled a few times before stopping for a prolonged drink in his honorary village fountain.
A few people poked their heads out their windows. Hushed whispers, and a some unexcited conversation. A trickle of water and gentle moaning.
"Looks like they're at it again," one costumed boy remarked drolly. "Hey, Nurth's pumpkin costume is pretty good this year."
"Yeah," the other child nodded excitedly. "You think we'll get to help rebuilding the fountain?"
