Now we're up to the Goosebumps books for Inktober. This is Book 42: Egg Monsters from Mars.
Dana, who wants to be a scientist when he grows up, discovers a strange green egg. It eventually hatches into what can only be described as a sentient pile of runny scrambled eggs. Dana takes it to his neighborhood scientist, Dr. Gray, only to get trapped in a freezer with more of the egg monsters. This one has a perplexing plot twist.
