My alter Evey drew this one.
It actually means a lot to Evey since she doesn't usually imagine she's witty. Having someone laugh at a joke she made absolutely made her day.
It's absolutely fascinating - our art styles and handwriting are so different. They look the same because of muscle memory, and because she's Imitating my style of comic lettering, but she's clearly thinking in Matisse terms of flat plane and color, with Munsch thrown in, compared to my present preoccupation with calligraphic line and texture and chiaroscuro... Being plural is bizarre. We have different vocabularies, different religious opinions (she thinks it would be "cruel of God" to not exist, which I can't say is wrong), different musical tastes (she loves opera and Sondheim), different kinks and taste in partners (she likes boys more), different tastes in cartoons, different skull with languages (Lilac conlangs for fun and Evey struggles through English, and her Latin is better than her German even though she loves German opera more than Lilac)...
I won't go into detail about that last panel, but suffice to say the reason why I still pay rent to live at home is because every other roommate situation I've had I ended up traumatized, and it took me all this time to get to the point of "I would have moved out this time last year but covid happened."
I'm glad I have her. She keeps me in the "this is why we do what we do" world. She's a part of me I don't wanna lose.

After a hard drive crash, the files I recovered are often damaged, and there's no way to tell which ones unless they suddenly skip halfway. The only solution is to go through a 600gb library and manually click on the progress bar at the end of every song, and see if any don't play. I'm up to Queen now, I think. Literally doing this by, like a cat, hovering one finger over the precise place, applying just the right amount of pressure, and by tapping on the finger with the fingers of the other hand, I can basically oscillate the trackpad of my laptop to click five or seven times a second. Still slow going.
And Evey is happy to meet you, as always. I'm happy to report the stress is down now that relatives are gone, they're just... they're so draining to be around. Every family has some of those.
