The phrase "because magic" exists for a reason. Asking too much for magic mechanics is equivalent to asking someone to create an entirely new state of matter from a small rock.

...a vulnerability, exposed, to vlagg's counter•measure — all•the•same
(i see you, bob)it's not as if gervic hasn't already taken his amulet off (and away from) his person before; so, as far as i know, bob's shattering it likely shouldn't make any especial difference, beyond whatever effects this sudden release of mana will have on gervic
(perhaps the amulet mana will supplement the mana that fuels the wolf's curse, thereby amplifying it?)
the bigger question is, shall this be irreversible?
or, more aptly: given gervic's current state, would he care if he can no longer hide his chimerism?at any rate vlagg can always have another amulet made: this time, fortified a little better and, more importantly, not put out there in such plain sight!
