Just read this and it totally mirrors my first love experience which was with a male friend. It wasn't till some time later when I fell in love with someone else that I realized what had been going on. That first time, had no idea what being in love was actually like and completely missed all the signs :D He wasn't/isn't gay, were still friends and all these years later I never told him that I had fallen in love with him way back then.
