Frolicking with cetacean pokemon was probably more what Archie had in mind with summoning Kyogre, than drowning the world. Oh well! A much-needed re-do for doflip and porpulse, and another Infusion
Dolflip, the air bubble pokemon
Dolflip is a small water-and-psychic type pokemon from the Osaigon coast. It frolics in the waves and among the corals of its home, with hardly a care in the world. They use their small horn to focus their psychic power, and can make weak telekinetic fields with it. Primarily they use this to create a bubble of fresh air over their blowhole, so they can breathe. They can also make projectiles out of water with it, and like to have fun splashing low-flying birds and surfers. Although they are cheeky and playful they are also kind pokemon that try to help people and pokemon in distress, especially those that have been washed out to sea. Many stories reaching back to antiquity feature the bravery of dolflips as they rescued people from terrible storms or shipwrecks. Dolflip evolves into porpulse at level 28.
Porpulse, the air bubble pokemon
Porpulse is a medium-sized water-and-psychic type pokemon from the Osaigon coast. They travel up and down the coast in small pods to hunt for fish and come into the shallows to raise their offspring every year before departing to deeper waters. Porpulse can understand human speech and can communicate with humans psychically, but it rarely does so - they are very concerned by the greedy and predatory nature of many humans, so they try to stay away from them. If they meet a kind human though, they will try to befriend them, and some of the more remote settlements in the northern Osaigon islands are protected by pods of porpulse. They can use their expanded psychic power to create towering waves and deadly whirlpools if they find themselves under attack by torequiem, their natural predator, but in most other cases they prefer to create illusions and summon mist and fog in order to escape notice.
With the use of Infused Sapphire, porpulse can access its Infused Form. Sometimes called a wishing fish (a misnomer since it is not a fish), this infused form was once believed to be a mythical pokemon that was hunted to extinction hundreds of years ago. It cannot actually grant wishes but it has a helpful nature and often tries to assist humans if it can. Its thick blubber protects it from both extreme cold and insulates it against electricity, much to the chagrin of its foes. The jewels embedded in its hide can be willingly shed, and are believed to be the source of at least some Infused gems.
