Teal hasn't been to a party in a heck of a long time, and his best friend Ferrin, as one her friends from the coffee shop which she used to work at (until the incident) loves to party, decides that she should drag him along to a cosplay party, where people dress up as all sorts of characters and party. And Teal just so happens to get dressed up as the femme fatale.
In the 4th millennium, culture from before then still survives in the Romaterran Archives, and that extends to video games. Though, there can be a little confusion over what is official or fan art.
(I kinda was a Sonic fan back when I was younger. Though, the most exposure I had to it was the Mario and Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games, and Roblox RP servers. Looking back, was kinda cringe-worthy, but to cringe and be cringe is to grow.)
