The real score I'm crying over, as always, is David Shire's "Return to Oz." The end credits! Dorothy's theme on violin and Ozma's themes on cello! They intersect! They pas the de deux!
And yeah, I'm proud of those motifs. I don't have an actual motif for the shadows yet, it would be too... limiting. There's a reason Gandalf the Grey doesn't have a leitmotif, Shore says that would make him too concrete and less mysterious. I may assign the shadows an instrument, or a sound effect, rather than a melody.
I kinda wanna do something like Lucas and Williams did for Star Wars and slow down the shot to make room for the music. I just adore that and how big it makes the world.
