So, this is a bit of a departure! Welcome to a little mini-series I wanted to do based on one of the newest and already most beloved DC Universe characters: Jarro.
Quick rundown for those that don't know: Yes, Jarro *is* canon on Prime Earth. He's only made a few appearances, but there are a lot of people that are waiting for that to change. Maybe this fan comic can bring us a little closer to that happening, or at least make the wait more tolerable.
Jarro is a fragment of the Star Conquerer, Starro. In a battle to save the universe, Starro teamed with all of the heroes and villains of Prime Earth to fight off an incredibly powerful threat. (This tale can be seen in the Justice League: No Justice special mini-series.) Starro was ripped to shreds by a powerful titan, dying in a deeply moving and astonishingly heroic way.
One of Starro's fragments were found and raised by the Justice League. He originally was kept in a Jarro, hence the tongue-in-cheek name "Jarro." (A name he gladly took to.) Jarro was raised by the Justice League, and primarily Batman. As he grew... so to speak... he found he had a tremendous love and affection for them all. Long story short, Jarro was taken in by Batman and became his newest Robin.
His first main-character story has been in Justice League #29. I won't give it a way, but it is an incredible read with a lot of excitement, laughs, thrills, and genuinely touching moments.
Jarro's only made a couple of small appearances since then, so time will tell if and when we see more - likely in the "Death Metal" mini-series that is currently ongoing.

So, yeah. This was just a fan comic I wanted to make for my favorite DC hero. not much to say about the art on this one, apart from... you'd be surprised how tricky it is to pose a star-shaped character.
One other small note I hadn't considered... You'd be surprised how many little variations there have been to Nightwing's costume over the years. It's hard to pin down an absolute, exact definitive version, so I kinda went with a bit of an amalgamation of multiple different ones. Hope you like it!
Stay tuned. There might be some more of Jarro's Tales as time goes on. <3

He absolutely is. And he's amazing and adorable. <3=
Highly recommend picking up Justice League #29 if you want the full, in-depth story, but here's the basic rundown:
