--- featured the Shmoo, the adorable two-limbed amorphous creature from Al Capp's Li'l Abner, so you know what that sort of thing inspires in me. This Shmoo's based on one panel from http://lil-abner.com/the-shmoo/ --- specifically http://lil-abner.com/wp-content/upl.....12/Shmoo-a.jpg and the big Shmoo there. Also, you can see how much Capp anticipated, and how much he did not, with his cute cheery amorphous creatures happy to be any kind of food you want.
I like what I was able to do with the feet there. Amorphous creatures are hard and I also mostly like the bits of shading done in the vain attempt to give this shape some solidity.

They did, yeah. Ran a series where Fred and Barney and the Shmoo were cops for some reason. They suppressed the whole part where Shmoos were eager to be eaten, but played up the shapeshifting side and that was exciting.
There were Shmoo-like characters in The Herculoids a decade earlier, too, I suppose because they hadn't worked out a deal with the Al Capp estate.
