i think a paying customer is never "holding the line."
BUT.
you just made me realize something there, ziude.
you don't have to read it, though, if you don't want.
because it's "tangential," as it were
more for the sake of the line-workers (who i know, invariably, only make 7 - 9 USD an hour) — orders that are so prolific, they necessarily require additional dedicated manpower to process correctly (because it wouldn't be fair to a fully-paying customer, who presumably is going to pay a lot, to short ze'm in any way, just because ze'i don't feel like "dealing with it")...
...there probably should be a "large order" sliding-scale surcharge assessed
a surcharge that automatically goes to the line cooks and order processors on duty at that time; and i guess, maybe a little something for whoever has to deal with re-stocking the supplies / resources required for the big ass order
