When not tasked with keeping Desta out of trouble, making sure he's safe and what not when he visits home. No one really cares what she does in her off hours. So she tends to go to coastal cities and put the fear of the sea in them from time to time...at least enough that they curb what she might see as problematic behavior.
That said she also won't admit she loves the feel of the crumbling buildings between her toes.
