I think that this piece is self-contained enough that it mostly speaks for itself.
It is also one of several that I have written over the years, which takes some measure of inspiration from a Joni Mitchell lyric from the song "Sex Kills" off of her 1994 album: "Turbulent Indigo", specifically when Joni sings of seeing a Cadillac waiting at a red light, with the license plate: JUST ICE.
Joni asks: "Is Justice 'just ice'"?
I think that's an even better question in 2021 than it was in 1994.
