# Spider

At number six it's a spider, which is really a missed opportunity to make that number eight. Of course, in the original list, number eight is for 'octomaid' so I guess that's a fair cop. Regardless, spider characters has always interested me, despite not being much into the animal myself, characters based off of them tend to have a lot of charm to them. I think what really drew me to the concept though was Muffet from Undertale, thus I set out to make one of my own, so I was already ahead of the game on this one! (The same can be said of the octomaid design as well, admittedly) You may call it cheating, but I see it as beating it to the punch. It just means I had something that fit the criteria... and given how pressed I was for time, reusing existing characters of mine for this was the only way this thing was getting done!

All that aside, Velvet still fills a role for this countdown that I didn't use anywhere else. The foppish, upper crust, noble beauty who's far less prim and proper as one might assume! I wanted something to show her overt, lackadaisical take on life and since this was a Halloween Countdown, I figured a little homage to the Haunted Mansion was just perfect for the job. Is she blissfully unaware of what's below her, or is she so confident that there is no worry whatsoever in her brain? The world my never know... besides, it's not like that crocodile could get it's jaws half way around that giant dumper of her anyway!
