Today our family lost a much beloved member. Emely our oldest dog didn't wake up after her surgery to remove a cancer-ridden womb. The surgery went well, her tests came out great but her heart couldn't keep up near the end and thus she passed.
She's been with me for 11 years and was the most daring little troublemaker, she convinced my 'doesnt like dogs' stepdad to like dogs (specifically her breed of course), she may have caused me some troubles in the past but that was never her fault, she was just a dog doing what dogs do.
I'm going to miss her. So much. It's not gonna be the same sleeping without hearing her mild complaints of me moving my feet, or hear her scratch the door to come hang with me. It won't be the same coming home and not hear her little singing noises of joy.
I'm going to miss her perpetually worried looking face her beard and eyebrows gave her, her curly coat that made her so soft to touch, her slow pitter patter as she makes her way to you when you call for her.
Just making this was hard enough as is and I certainly haven't cried in a good while. Thank you Emely for helping me cry after months of nothing. Thank you for wonderful 11 years of companionship. Thank you for being the sweetest schnauzer I've had the joy to grow up with. Rest easy now, I'm sorry I couldn't do more for you. I hope you can forgive me.
I'll see you again some other time. Wait for me, please
