I got the inspiration for this poem as I was watching 2012 for the third time…I like the movie and yet I fear it at the same time.
Humanities Extinctions.
Out Survival on this Mother Earth is Futile,
As our existence becomes putrid and vial.
When we ask for here forgiveness she gives us none,
because we are a species who turns and runs.
One day our existence will just end,
This is something to which we can not mend.
People say “We can live on” then I ask “why?”
when our fate was sealed when she left us to die.
I think we should die just to be fair,
Because it is our death in which she only cares.
I think it’s best we all just go,
Because she wants us to all die painfully slow.
One day we will look back at how we all died,
And we will witness the discerning corpse of Genocide.
For years she wanted us dead, that much is known,
Because we have been the thread to which the ending is sewn.
I think it’s best that we all just die,
So fall to your knees but never cry,
Because this is a fate to which we all share,
So take my hand and let us stare.
Let us watch as our world flares,
Because it is not mother earth for whom I care,
But for you in which I will always be there.
