If I'd take a guess, I'd say it's the utilization of organs in this case? The timestamp for the one from Stellaris is a leitmotif that's used throughout the other tracks. If you like this kind of music, I strongly recommend the Stellaris soundtrack (It's the main reason I bought the game hehehe).
There's certainly a lot of pride in the avian's expression though he does look to have some sadness as well. Perhaps it's because his is a high and lonely station as there are few if any whom could come close to his level.
