The other thing I've been doing with the portraits of the damaged copies of the Velhagen-Klasings Monatshefte is painting furries on top of them. It's actually quite fun.

Ink on top of litho reproduction of "Der Ratsmann" (the town councillor) by professor Edward von Gebhardt. (This was back in the day when names were "translated" as a matter of course. I remember one article was about the decorations of "Schloss Versailles" in the reign of "Ludwig XVI." A quick check on Wikipedia tells me that's still his name in Germany.)
