I've done the bit towards the end to my boyfriend before, except that I ran through a series of fountains and not into the ocean. In public. Whoops. He reacted pretty much the same way, poor guy. :|;
There's something about your writing style that's very pleasant, but I'm not sure I can put my finger on it. But this is certainly my favorite line: And he would have said lamely, "Here, I'll hold your clothes so they don't get sandy." All in all, it's a nice contrast, even without telling us anything about their relationship: their actions speak for themselves, and illustrate their personalities wonderfully.
Now I'm curious about where this fits in with the rest of it!
