Whilst his digestive system may be the best in the Pride Lands. On days where he's had multiple inhabitants in his large belly, the seventh or eighth 'inhabitant' of his stomach would sometimes not get digested right away, as Simba's hard-working body can get tired after digesting so much meat at once.
So the great stuffed King Simba would have belly rubs courtesy of Nala to help him relax and break down his meal (don't worry, she enjoys it XD). And on this occasion, Simba's lovely wife was out on a hunt with the other Lionesses so Simba had no-one around at Pride Rock to help speed up his digestion this time.

That was, until his adoptive fathers; Timon and Pumbaa arrived...
