What if Nobunaga Oda Died Early?[Unedacted]
Basically this one exists to give a reason why they won't be doing many historical tests...also because I just don't know enough inhuman monsters in history that I want to kill...there are more, obviously, but this one felt like the most direct to show why it's a bad idea to mess with history.
And as a treat for those reading these descriptions, here's one of the timeline that was not presented in the article, as the Foundation would not be privy to the details.
In the altered timeline, the nation of Nippon experienced a mass exodus during a Korean invasion, which saw over twenty thousand ships sail east, eventually reaching the continent the Europeans called 'The New World'. This altered timeline would see them set themselves up using their more advanced weapons and tactics as a minor power on the continent, pushing back against European expansion into the territory they had claimed, after wiping out the native population through simply systemic genocide.
Eventually, Shin Nihon, the nation of the displaced Japanese was annexed by Mexico during an aggressive expansionist phase, resulting in them controlling almost the entire Western Seaboard of the continent. However, they overextended their economy to facilitate this expansion, and when they defaulted on credit, the majority of the country fell to the United States' similar expansion, curtailing a much anticipated United States Civil War.
After this, now in control of far more land and resources than before, the United States' need to respond to crisis in their borders was fixed by electing three executives to 'rule' the various territories, the Northern President, who presided over most of what had been the 'Free States' as well as former Canadian territory taken while the British were battling Napoleon. The Southern President, who presided over the 'Slave States' which slowly phased out the needed to own people due to the burgeoning industrialization, and the Western President, which was mostly responsible for the newly acquired territories in Mexico, South American, and Shin Nihon.
In the modern era, the world is divided amongst the 'Five Powers'
The Unified Americas, which now have five Presidents, representing North, South, Further South, West, and Diaspora(For American controlled territories off the continent).
Greater Korea, which controls much of the south pacific, as well as continental China and their former territories.
The European Military Alliance(Formed to defeat Napoleon, and currently mostly the continent, without their colonial territories).
Mali Reborn(A general took much of the continent, paying his troops with gold as he claimed to be the heir to Mansa Musa, and with few to argue, he took most of the African Continent)
The New Byzantium, an empire rising on the ruins of the Ottoman Turks, ruled by a merchant prince class, and situated in the Middle East region, currently the largest economic block in the world, and a center for trade known for their peaceful interactions with the other four...and their brutal crackdowns on their own people.
