Heh, I'm reminded of the early Rankin/Bass TV series "Tales of the Wizard of Oz," where the Tin Man was VERY similar to Bender. He was bad-tempered and greedy (since he had no heart), and had a doored compartment on his chest. He was named Rusty, and voiced by the late Larry Mann (a.k.a. Yukon Cornelius on "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer").
