Third on the Skunk Gang list, Ruby! She’s honestly my second favorite of all my skunk characters, she’s just so fun to draw and her personality is a blend of innocence, almost naive, but also a complete understanding of what she’s doing and having fun with it. She’s also my second most developed skunk character, Jinx being the first most story evolved. Here’s some small details I have developed for Ruby’s smelly, but sweet, character ^^:
• Ruby has IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). She was diagnosed with it in her late teens and many believe it contributes to her already bad smelling scent. Foods that include dairy, broccoli, onions, cabbage, fried/fatty foods, and even certain drinks cause cramps, tummy trouble, and excessive amounts of gas for the albino skunk.
• Her hair isn't naturally pink, she just dyes it that color. Her hair's natural color is actually the same color as the markings on her body, however she never liked how she looked with her natural hair color, thus she dyed it instead.
• Ruby has amaxophobia, a fear of driving/being a passenger in a mode of transportation, which cripples her ability to want to drive. While riding trains or buses still makes her anxious, it is better than being in a car. Riding in cars (or planes) makes Ruby's IBS flare up more compared to anything else from the stress of it, so she avoids riding in either as much as possible.
• Being that she was born with albinism, her skin is very sensitive to sunlight. Even with a fairly fluffy coat of fur, she spends most of her time in or within close proximity to the indoors to prevent sunburning. If she has to be outside for a long time, she’ll wear sunscreen. Her eyesight is also affected from being albino, being much poorer than most other skunks and unable to tolerate a lot of bright lights.
• She's a sleep cuddler. Pretty much anything she can wrap her arms around will not leave her grasp until she wakes up.
