I can wash my bodysuit, paws and tail in a washing machine. For the head and feet, you should use a Bissel "Little Green Machine" spot-cleaner (or equivalent). But rain is usually pretty clean (except for the first rain after a long dry spell, which will pick up at lot of dust) so you can get away with just letting the fur dry and then giving it a good slicker brush and that'll get most of the dried dirt off. The big worry is the eyes - the colouring can run in the wet (depending upon how they were made) so you want to avoid that as much as possible
