I use to love working second shift and getting home at midnight. It was peaceful, no neighbors fighting and al the sounds of the day were gone. I felt as though I "owned the night," lol. I could play video games, do whatever and went to bed at 3:00AM. And if I had a medical appointment, well I could schedule it for noon and still be to work in plenty of time. Alas, a Systems Admin does not have such luxuries and must arrive promptly at 8:00 AM- or the whole world will be set alight.

Since I've 'retired', I've drifted back to second shift hours. I go to bed around 2:00 AM and get up around 10:00 AM. I worked third shift for a year and a half; I still loathe watching the sun rise.
